HOW MIAMI'S GROWING INFRASTRUCTURE REACHES OVERTOWN
PURPOSE
The story of Overtown is one that is shared by many communities around Miami, and the country. As urban developments and gentrification encroach on historically black communities, displacing hundreds of thousands of people in areas with large amounts of income inequality and high living cost, one is left wondering where do we go from here?
MISSION STATEMENT
Our goal with this project is to start the conversation. By highlighting issues such as gentrification, income inequality, and homelessness in our own communities, we hope to encourage others to do so as well. We believe that the first step to fixing these issues is through education and shining a light to what's happening in our communities.
